Hello RMASFAA!
I know you are all exhausted, and just hearing those words "FAFSA Simplification" or "SAI" can make your blood boil. This year we will all be undertaking so many changes - changes to the FAFSA, changes to the processes we have all been used to, changes to how we talk to families, changes, changes, changes! The one thing that doesn't change though is our commitment to our students and families. Your compassion and willingness to do whatever it takes to make our students' lives better does not go unnoticed.
We are all here by chance. None of us woke up as a child and said, "I want to be in the financial aid industry when I grow up". It is a calling. We can all probably name those people who brought us in and mentored us to show us what kindness, empathy, and passion truly are. I feel so lucky to be able to work in an organization like RMASFAA. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
This year, I am determined to continue to lead the board in a direction that is positive and does what YOU need it to do. I will be your voice if you need me to be, or a listening ear if that is what you would prefer. We, as a board, want to ensure that our work benefits the organization. We will do what is in the best interest of ALL of us! We will also make sure there are opportunities for growth so that you are prepared to tackle anything. We all know more changes are coming, so we better just be prepared to hang on together!
