All Summer Institute attendees will be placed in a class of 15-25 peers taught by two faculty members (well-established Financial Aid Administrators!). Starting on Sunday afternoon and going through the end of the day Thursday, each class will work through sixteen different class sessions.
This year our incredible faculty will be training students using the NASFAA University curriculum! The range of topics and level of detail covered will depend on if you are in the neophyte, intervanced or directors track. The following topics are part of the NASFAA University curriculum we will be using:
- Return of Title IV Funds
- Student Eligibility
- Professional Judgment
- Application Process
- Federal Methodology
- Campus-Based Programs
- Cost of Attendance
- Federal Pell Grant
- Direct Loans
- Consumer Information
- Cash Management
- Satisfactory Academic Progress
- Administrative Capability
- Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grants
Two subject areas, in each class, will be taught by NASFAA-credentialed faculty members, which then allows everyone to be able to take the credential exams FOR FREE!
- Neophyte registrants will be able to take the Cost of Attendance and Student Eligibility exams.
- Intervanced registrants will be able to take the Verification and Return to Title IV exams.
- New and Aspiring Directors will be able to take the Need Analysis and Cost of Attendance exams.
