RMASFAA Summer Institute
Colorado School of Mines - Golden, CO

The Villains of Fear, Misinformation and Confusion are haunting the dreams of current and aspiring college students! Join our team of RMASFAA Financial Aid Avengers as we combine and perfect our skills to be true Superheroes to the citizens we have pledged to serve.

RMASFAA's Summer Institute is nationally-recognized as one of the foremost training events for new and seasoned aid administrators. Our weeklong, intensive, classroom-based format is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of federal financial aid programs, along with a back-end perspective of the regulatory issues that shape and govern these programs. With the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop, you will connect with old friends and new - all while developing professionally in one of the most beautiful locations in the West!

RMASFAA will be offering three distinct training tracks at this year's Summer Institute, including an innovative and specialized track for "New Directors". View the track titles below for more information.

The Neophyte Track is Summer Institute's signature training offering. Designed with new financial aid administrators in mind, the content is focused towards professionals with experience ranging from one-month on up. Those moving into positions with new and greater responsibilities will also find this track to be useful. NASFAA's CORE materials are the basis for the Neophyte curriculum and featured guest speakers will be incorporated throughout for a comprehensive experience. If you are looking for the BEST "nuts and bolts" financial aid training around, look no further!

The "Inter-advanced" Track is intended for seasoned professionals who may have attended Summer Institute in the past as a Neophyte or who have several years of progressive experience in financial aid. Track content has been carefully selected for the Inter-advanced attendee. NASFAA's CORE materials will be incorporated throughout the program, but the focus will be more on developing and fine-tuning more advanced knowledge of the federal aid programs. Guest speakers, collaboration, and open discussion will be plentiful!

Participants in the Directors Track will gain an advanced understanding of administering financial aid programs and learn how to apply this advanced knowledge in managing a financial aid office. Sessions will focus on various financial aid programs with an emphasis on management. Registration for this track will be capped at 20 attendees.
