  In the Spotlight:
Robb Cummings, Associate Member Delegate

Robb Cummings has been in the student loan business for the past seven years. He started out as Manager of Educational Loans at BANK IV (now Bank of America) and then moved over to the guarantee and servicing side with USA Group. He joined the Sallie Mae family as an Account Executive when USA Group and Sallie Mae merged in 2000. Robb is responsible for schools in Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

Robb has been involved in various organizations and committees over the years. He is currently the RMASFAA Associate Member Delegate and the "Dean" for the Loan Professional track at the upcoming Rocky Mountain Summer Institute. Last year he served as Corporate Development Chair. He was also a member of the 2001 RMASFAA Conference Committee and the 2001 Summer Institute Committee. In addition he has been a member of several committees in KASFAA, NeASFAA, NDASFAA, and SDASFAA.

When asked about his experiences with the financial aid community, Robb replied, "One of the best things about my job are the strong relationships I've built with my colleagues in the financial aid community. It is nice to work in an industry where folks have a genuine concern for others. It goes beyond the business aspect to a more personal level. You'd have difficulty finding that in a lot of jobs."

Robb has been an active member of RMASFAA. He attended his first RMASFAA Conference in Whitefish, Montana and claims to recall a few late nights/early mornings from that event! As a "rookie" Robb quickly learned that RMASFAA members knew how to put on a conference! In addition to the numerous RMASFAAA conferences Robb has attended, he holds many fond memories of the Rocky Mountain Summer Institute. Robb feels that Summer Institute is not only a great learning experience, but also offers a chance to catch up with old friends and to make some new ones.

In addition to his regular job goals, Robb's immediate goal for this year is to organize a successful Loan Professionals track for the 2002 Summer Institute.

On a more personal note, Robb graduated from Washburn University (go Ichabods!). He's also a big Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas Jayhawks fan. Robb lives in Topeka, Kansas, where he works out of his home.
