Spotlight on Montana
Arlene Williams
Arlene Williams has dedicated her professional life to Western Montana College-UM since August of 1981. Her career in Financial Aid began in July of 1994 when she accepted the position of Director of Financial Aid. Since, she has served as President of MASFAA, worked on the RMASFAA Training Committee, and is a member of NASFAA. Arlene has been lending her knowledge and professionalism to colleagues throughout the state, region, and nation for nearly seven years.

Arlene is married to Terry and they have two daughters, Leslie and Wendi. Terry also works for Western Montana College-UM. Arlene's daughter, Leslie, attends WMC and her youngest daughter, Wendi, is a student at Beaverhead County High School. Arlene and Terry travel a lot to watch their daughters sporting events ALL OVER the northwest.

Recently, Arlene has undertaken a new challenge as the Dean of Enrollment Management at Western. This position encompasses the Directorship of both Financial Aid and Admissions. Her co-workers are expecting nothing less than excellence from her in her current endeavor, as that has been her imprint here at Western Montana College-UM. We wish Arlene the best of luck and look forward to many more years of service.
Meg Foutch
Meg Foutch has been involved in the wonderful world of financial aid sin Montana since 1988. Meg originally worked at the Montana Guaranteed Student Loan Program. In 1994, Meg joined the financial aid office at Carroll College as the Assistant Director. Meg will be leaving her post at the end of June and move to Boston where her husband, Shawn, will be attending the Sloan Business School at MIT.

Meg's future plans are to be an at home mom and enjoy more time with her growing children. Her husband has other plans though; he keeps trying to find her work in a Boston area financial aid office! Meg said the biggest shock of relocating to Boston would be getting over the shock of only having one vehicle. She said she would miss the mountain scenery and, have course, all the wonderful people of Montana.

While at Carroll, Meg helped with the pilot program of the Master Prom Note. Her accomplishments have been getting the filing system in better order and having audits with no findings. The financial aid office has grown by 1 ½ people since Meg was the assistant director. She felt the need for more staff to better serve the students of Carroll.

Meg is especially grateful for all of the wonderful support from the financial aid community when her children were born and during the time of loss of her son, Max.

We all wish Meg well in her future endeavors and hope she does get to take a well deserved break from financial aid and enjoy what life has to bring her.
