Thoughts from the MCI Committee

When I am at a loss for words, I can generally rely on the words of another. A quote from Easy Answers to Life's Hard Questions, by Lynne Ames reads: "You cannot always change circumstances, but you can always change your reaction to them". This rings so true. With the ongoing changes in the financial aid world, I need to continue to remind co-workers and myself that "CHANGE IS GOOD", "CHANGE IS GOOD", "CHANGE IS GOOD". Our students are continually changing and if we are going to serve them, we need to embrace change. I hope you all have an opportunity to take in the RMASFAA Road Rally, "An Innovative and Inspiring look at Change: Who Moved My Cheese", which will be offered during your state conference. I would like to show special appreciation to Chris Christensen, KSU and Jack Taylor, University of Kansas Med Center, for putting their heads together and organizing this year's rally.

The MCI Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank all RMASFAA members for their generous support during RMASFAA 2000. We were able to collect over 400 books for the Batesland School. The Batesland Elementary School is located on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and serves about 100 children. The books are greatly appreciated. THANK YOU. Watch for the announcements RMASFAA 2001 Service Project to be held during this years conference in Wichita, Kansas.
(Editor's Note: See the Thank You message from Batesland Elementary School in this Newsletter.)

At last, the Scholarship Brochure has been reformatted and will be available on the RMASFAA web sight soon. Thanks to Robin Holden, University of North Dakota, Vice Chair of the RMASFAA Electronic Initiatives Committee, for designing and developing the new brochure. Watch your email for more information.
