Voigt's View
By Darry Voigt, RMASFAA President

I can hardly believe that I am writing my last Voigt's View. I am sure that I am not the only RMASFAA President that has felt that the year has gone by far too quickly and that I didn't really get to achieve everything I wanted too. On the other hand, it is amazing how much all of the RMASFAA Committee Chairs accomplished in the same time frame. Please join me in giving a big thank you to: Wilma Kasnic, Association Governance Chair; Jeff Jacobs and Holly Schirado, Co-chairs, Conference Planning; Tipp Blewitt (until he moved to Arizona) then Brent Carpenter for taking over as Chair of Corporate Development; Chris Johnson, Electronic Initiatives Chair; Kelly Hoggatt, Finance and Audit Committee Chair, Ryan Graalum, Membership Chair; Chris Christenson then Ruben Guerrero, Multi-Cultural Initiatives Chair; Jim Swanson, Nominations and Elections Chair; Renee Leach, Publications Chair; Brenda Sebastian, Summer Institute Chair; and Teena Cooper, Training Committee Chair. I truly need to learn their secrets for getting things done. (Brent and Ruben, an extra special thank you for jumping in there when Chris and Tipp seized the opportunities they were presented, outside the region.)

Of course I must thank my fellow officers for keeping me on track and doing so much in so many ways in support of RMASFAA. Wilma and Jim (mentioned above) also as Past-President and President-Elect respectively, John Nutter, Vice President; Julie Cooper, Secretary; Sharon Kienow, Treasurer; and Robb Cummings, Associate Member Delegate. Their many hours of dedicated support are greatly appreciated.

And the State Delegates had no easy task this year either. Each had to run their own state association and then stay awake during my board (bored) meetings. All joking aside, their participation is crucial to keeping the association in tune with what is happening across the region and allowing the board to better meet the needs of the membership. Thank you: Ruben Guerrero, Colorado; Robert Gamez, Kansas; Terri Gruba, Montana; Paula Kohles, Nebraska; Lynn Aaberg, North Dakota; Cody McMichael, South Dakota; Terry Bell, Utah; and Jacque Burns, Wyoming.

My biggest thanks go to you, the RMASFAA Membership, for giving me the opportunity to serve as your president. It has been a great year and I have benefited greatly from the experience. It is an experience that I hope many of you will have the opportunity to have as well. Thank you RMASFAA, you're the best.
