  In the Spotlight:
Robin Holden, Co-Chair Electronic Initiatives Committee
Robin has been in financial aid for ten years. She started as a Financial Aid Administrator at UND in July 1992 and became the Director in July 2001. Robin attended UND and has a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in counseling. After graduation she worked as an academic advisor at Daytona Beach Community College for 2 years, and although Florida was fun, she missed her family, the seasons, and North Dakota.

Robin is a member of several enrollment management and scholarship committees at UND and is on the UND TRIO Advisory Board and the UND Cooperative Education Advisory Board. She has been actively involved over the years in the several attempts made by the ND University System to select a software vendor and is currently involved in the state system PeopleSoft implementation. She's also been a Department of Education Trainer for the NSLDS Workshop series. Other professional interests include designing and maintaining departmental website and paper publications.

Robin is a member of NDASFAA, RMASFAA and NASFAA. She's been on the NDASFAA Electronic Initiatives Committee and is currently on the Awareness Committee. She is also on the 2002 RMASFAA Conference Program Committee and has been the co-chair of the RMASFAA Electronic Initiatives Committee for two years and will be the chair this upcoming year. When asked about the role of the Electronic Initiatives Committee, Robin said it's role is to act as a liaison between the company that maintains RMASFAA's site and all of the other RMASFAA committees and committee chairs. The committees provides information for the site and time lines and the Electronic Initiatives Committee makes sure the information gets on the site. The EIC also coordinates the maintenance of the RMASFAA Listserv and acts as a resource for the RMASFAA Board and membership regarding questions about the appearance and functionality of the website.

Robin said her involvement on the RMASFAA Electronic Initiatives Committee has been a great experience. Her role so far has mostly been to assist the current chair, Chris Johnson, and learn about the responsibilities of the committee and the chair. She notes that Chris Johnson is very professional, knowledgeable and great to work with.

Robin is really looking forward to her new role as EIC committee chair next year. She said, "It's a great opportunity to get to know others within the financial aid community in our region. Hopefully I will be able to continue to provide the same great service RMASFAA committees have enjoyed over the years working with Chris". As for more long-range goals, Robin is looking forward to learning and growing in her new position as director and continuing to stay involved in NDASFAA and RMASFAA.
