Voigt's View
By Darry Voigt, RMASFAA President

Well you can blame me for making this issue of the Exchange a little late. Okay, ten days late (at least). That could still be defined as "little" if you set up the evaluation scale up right. Maybe I can have a certain accounting firm come in and balance my time table for me. Heck this could possibly be early.

I want to thank Brenda Sebastian and her committee for putting together another GREAT RMASFAA Summer Institute. It was a "Peak Performance" that will keep SI in the books as one of the premier training opportunities in the nation for financial aid personnel. Brenda even put Charlie Bruce, the National Chair Elect of NASFAA, to work during registration. I believe Charlie had a great time as did every one else with whom I have talked. SI is a huge undertaking that is very rewarding to everyone involved, committee members, instructors as well as the participants. THANKS BRENDA!!

Thanks also go to Jim Swanson, your President Elect, for finding a great slate of candidates and conducting a very successful election of the new RMASFAA officers. I also want to thank all the candidates for their willingness to pursue an office in RMASFAA. Your, across the board quality, contributed to the great voter turn out. I understand we had tight competition for each position. I am sure all the candidates appreciated your support.

Congratulations go to:
Mary Summers - President-elect
Rosie Jamison - Vice President
Penny James - Secretary
Teena Cooper - Associate Member Delegate

Be sure to give them your support as they assume their elected positions in October.

Speaking of October, I trust everyone has started planning to attend the conference in Bismarck, October 13-16, 2002. (I hope I got those dates right). I know it's summer, and you are probably having a great time and don't want to see it end, but go ahead and plan ahead. I might try that myself and maybe I won't need that "special" accounting firm in the future.

Thank you RMASFAA

Darry
