This year, the Financial Aid Community felt the loss of Marie McQuiddy Daley. Marie was a Program Manager at the University of Utah from 1998-2003. She then went to work for Zion’s Bank as a student loan representative. Marie passed away on January 16, 2007 after a hard-fought battle with breast cancer. Her spirit and presence was felt strongly in our community. If you asked anyone, they would tell you Marie was amazing and had a smile that would light up the world. She was exceptionally good with students and everyone loved her. She was a hard worker but had a playful fun side that drew people to her. Many UASFAA members attended her funeral and were amazed at the number of people in attendance who knew and loved Marie. A small paragraph cannot begin to do justice to the kind of person she was. She gave so much of herself in her short time on Earth and she will be missed very much. Marie leaves behind her loving husband, Ryan, and two small children, Karsen (3) and Hudson (1).
