Greetings from the RMASFAA President
By Sally Crow Schuman

Sally SchumanGreetings from RMASFAA! Your Board of Directors and RMASFAA Committees have been diligently working on several projects the past months, and continue to serve us with their dedication.

The Corporate Development Committee, under the leadership of Mary Anne Whitman, continues to implement the new giving structure finalized by last year’s Board.

The Nominations and Elections Committee is beginning their search for nominees to run for 2007 officer positions, so when Cristi Easton and her group call, say “Yes!!”

The Association News Committee and Publisher Julie Esau brought us the RMASFAA 2006 Calendar, as well as this issue of the Exchange.

Summer Institute is scheduled for June 4–9 on the beautiful campus of Colorado School of Mines. Janet Riis and her crew are planning another week of the best financial aid training in the country.

Beverly Bell and her newly-formed Leadership Pipeline Committee are laying the groundwork for formal mentoring processes for our Association, and have been instrumental in loading 2006 RMASFAA committees with first-time members.

The Diversity and Multicultural Initiatives Committee, with Chair Annette Mello, are targeting yet another successful community service fund raiser for our October conference, and will be selecting DMCI Summer Institute scholarship recipients soon.

Membership Committee Chair Vicki Kucera and her group have been very effective in bringing membership renewals up to date, and are working on cleaning up the membership database.

Our Finance and Audit Committee, lead by Terri Gruba, is keeping a watchful eye on the Association’s finances, and compiled an excellent and effective budget plan for 2006.

Peg Mason’s Association Governance Committee has finalized some required changes to the Policy and Procedures manual, and identified more modifications for Board discussion.

The Electronics Initiatives Committee and Chair Jeff Gregory continue to update, refine, and monitor our web page and multiple list serves with unsurpassed energy.

The Winter Board Meeting will be held March 20–21 in Denver. Feel free to contact any of your Board representatives with your ideas and input.

I look forward to seeing many of you at your spring state conferences.

Best regards,

Sally Crow Schuman
2006 RMASFAA President
