Ok, I am FARRRRRRRRRRRR from domestic—my idea of homemade or home cooking involves turning on the stove. (I do make an awesome Mac and Cheese from scratch, but have no idea how I do it), thus I will give you my recipe for:

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Step 1 - Go to the store and buy a roll of Pillsbury cookie dough (I prefer Pillsbury over Nestle).
Step 2 - Preheat oven to what the package says.
Step 3 - Line cookie sheets with foil.
Step 4 - Open cookie dough—put a spoonful on the cookie sheet, lick fingers, put another on the cookie sheet, eat the chocolate chip that went astray, and so on until you have used up the cookie dough. Hopefully you’ll end up with at least 12 cookies.
Step 5 - Put in the oven.
Step 6 - Take clean dish towels and line the counter (or table) and put foil on top of the dishtowels.
Step 7 - Remove cookies from oven about 1 to 2 minutes before the package time tells you. (Make sure they have flattened and are not still the original ball) Do not over cook!
Step 8 - Remove immediately from tray and put on the foil on top of the dishtowels.

Eat and enjoy!

The Holidays made me think I have to send you my family dressing recipe. I don’t think this is how most people do dressing…it seems to be a local thing down here.

Church Hamburger Dressing

We call it "church dressing" because our local Catholic Churches each have a fall holiday meal fund raiser and the highlight is this dressing. Locals who have grown up with it seem to love it.

Two loaves bread toasted a couple of days ahead of time, cubed and allowed to dry
1 lb. hamburger, browned
½ stick margarine (add to warm hamburger after browning)
½ to ¾ cup chopped onion
¾ cup+ chopped celery (I always add more…we love the celery flavoring)
2 eggs beaten (added after hamburger cools)
Poultry Seasoning (I don’t measure…I like lots)
Two cans chicken broth (add more if it starts getting too dry)
Salt and pepper to taste

Mix and put in crock pot or slow cooker on low for approximately 4 hours stirring occasionally. You can stuff your turkey with it as well.

Harris Family Baked Beans

4 cans great northern beans
1/2 cup dried onion flakes or 1 chopped fresh onion
1 tsp. mustard, 1 tbs. vinegar
2/3 cup ketchup
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup water
French fried onions (canned or fresh)
1 lb bacon, uncooked, cut up

Mix beans, onion, mustard, vinegar, ketchup, sugar, and water and pour in baking dish. Top with bacon and bake at 300 degrees for 1.5 hours. Top with fried onions and bake another 1/2 hour.
