NeASFAA’s board of directors met during a break at the
RMASFAA Fall Conference in Omaha last October. Since our state
secretary comes from Chadron State College it was a better use
of her time spent on the road to combine two activities.
Nebraska did not participate in Decentralized training in the
fall of 2004. The decision was made early in the year that we
wanted many of our members to be at the RMASFAA conference in
Omaha. We normally offer joint state training, state guarantee
updates in conjunction with the decentralized training each fall.
Our state does not hold a fall conference or institute the year
we host RMASFAA. Attendance has not always been good when we offer
decentralized training as a stand alone opportunity for learning.
At the end of January the NeASFAA board met in Lincoln to continue
discussion on financial business, the upcoming spring conference
and state communications. We are currently wrapping up elections
and volunteer forms for 2005-2006. This should be complete by
the time you read this report.
Our PDC has the agenda set for the spring conference and is offering
a new track this year. A continuing “Business Etiquette”
training will be offered the whole conference. Due to the way
it is set up, attendees can attend one session, several or all
and make that their conference for the spring. This track still
allows members to be at the general sessions. All of this is happening
in Kearney from April 27th through the 29th. President, Peg Mason,
will be working hard to help open the conference.
