High School Counselor Updates:
As has been the practice within Montana for the past three years, representatives of MASFAA provide updates on the FAFSA and the application process for high school counselors at the fall MPSEOC (Montana Post Secondary Education Opportunities Council) Counselor Updates. This year it was held for the Western section of the state with the sites and dates being: Missoula - November 17, Butte - November 18, and Bozeman - November 19. Financial Aid staff from the colleges in those respective communities were the presenters.

Parent Night Presentations:
Parent nights were conducted throughout the state during the months of December and January as they have been in the past.

College Goal Sunday:
Sunday, February 13, 2005 was Montana’s first CGS and was held in 13 sites throughout the state. The locations selected were many of the tribal colleges and others that have large Native American populations. Statistics are still being compiled, but as of Friday, February 18, 766 parents & students were served (the goal was to serve 1000). The busiest site was MSU-Great Falls College of Technology with 170 and the smallest was Salish Kootenai College, with 14.

Dept of Ed Training:
On Tuesday, April 19, 2005 the DOE will provide training entitled “Managing Audits & Program Reviews: Paths for Success Training”. It will take place at the Holiday Inn Parkside in Missoula, MT from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

State Conference:
The MASFAA conference will be held in Missoula from April 20-22, 2005 at the Holiday Inn - Parkside. The conference theme is ”Designer’s Challenge”. Because the conference does not officially begin until noon on April 20th, there will be a pre-conference session, ”Violence in the Workplace” for those who attended the DOE training the day before. RMASFAA President Elect, Sally Schuman, will be present at our Conference.

New Board Member:
Brandi Payne of MSU-Bozeman has agreed to complete the Member-at-Large term vacated by Char Sorg who recently joined the staff of MGSLP.
