As part of the Association News Committee for RMASFAA, we
are highlighting our current committee chairs and state presidents.
In each “RMASFAA Exchange” we will invite four or
five of them to be “In the Spotlight” and give you
the opportunity to better know these dedicated and hard-working
volunteers.
I graduated from the University of Mary in 1996 with a BS in
Business Administration and received my Master’s in Business
Administration from the University of Mary.
In 2001, I returned to my alma mater and began my career in financial
aid as a financial aid counselor. I am currently the Associate
Director of Financial Assistance at the University of Mary. The
opportunity to help students attain their personal and academic
goals motivates me daily. I also welcome and enjoy the opportunity
to involve myself on a state and regional level by volunteering.
These opportunities have helped me grow personally and professionally.
The knowledge that I have gained from my interaction with other
financial aid professionals has been invaluable to me. It has
not been all work though, I have made some great friendships along
the way also. I feel that I have found my calling in the world
of financial aid!
I have been married to my husband, Rod, for over 15 wonderful
years and we have a beautiful daughter, Melissa, who is a wonderful
age 10! Although my daughter keeps me busy running to activities,
when I find a free moment, I love to read and ride my motorcycle.
