  In the Spotlight:
Meet the CASFAA President, Audrey Osswald

As part of the Association News Committee for RMASFAA, we are highlighting our current committee chairs and state presidents. In each “RMASFAA Exchange” we will invite four or five of them to be “In the Spotlight” and give you the opportunity to better know these dedicated and hard-working volunteers.

Audrey Osswald has worked in the Financial Aid Office at Pueblo Community College in Pueblo, CO for more than 15 years. She started out as the Financial Aid Coordinator and accepted her current position of Director of Financial Aid about eleven years ago. She has a BS degree in Elementary Education from Dakota Wesleyan University in South Dakota. Her Master’s Degree in Education Administration is from the University of South Dakota.

Audrey spent the first ten years of her professional life in South Dakota, where she grew up. She taught sixth grade at Little Wound Elementary School in Kyle, SD, on the Pine Ridge Reservation. She also worked in several federal grant positions while living and working on the Pine Ridge Reservation. After receiving her Master’s Degree, she was principle at Simmons Elementary in Aberdeen, SD for two years. Audrey left South Dakota for Colorado in 1987 and has lived primarily in Colorado Springs since the late 1980’s.

Audrey enjoys her work and being involved with professional organizations. She has served as secretary, two-year college representative, and on numerous committees with the state association, CAFAA, where she currently serves as president. She has also served on the NASFAA Technology Initiatives Committee for three years, including chairing the committee. Two of the three years, the NASFAA Technology Initiatives Committee was named committee of the year. Audrey has also served as faculty for RMASFAA Summer Institute in 2004.

Audrey is married with three grown stepsons, two daughters-in-law and three lovely grandchildren. When she is not working, or even when she is working, she likes to travel.
